Poverty
Alleviation
Poverty alleviation has become a major concern on international
agenda and has been clearly spelt out during the Millennium Declaration
whereby all participating countries have taken a commitment to reduce
its incidence by half by 2014. Worldwide, poverty reduction strategies
are being advocated and currently implemented in an attempt to fight
the multidimensional nature of poverty.
IDP has positioned itself to be a part-taker in this endeavour
and counts in its records several assignments relating to poverty
alleviation whether on local or foreign territories. To date,
we have accumulated experience in studies related to gender, education,
child protection, health, household indebtedness, and informal
sector.
